My Self-Isolation Book List

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

In case you are in self-isolation, I have made a booklist that most kids above 10 years of age should enjoy.

The I am Number Four series - recommended for ages 11 and up only

Skullduggery Pleasant series - the first two books are suitable for ages 9 or 10 depending on the child's reading level. The rest of the series are best suited for 11 years of age and up.

Divergent Series - This one I only recommend if you have read the Hunger Games and found them enjoyable and suitable.

Young James Bond - The first is called Silverfin

Young Sherlock Holmes

Hunger Games - Best suited for ages 11 years and up

Harley Merlin and the Secret Coven - My mum read this one because it was advertised as a "Harry Potter for adults" but mum thinks it is suitable for mature tweens and teens.

Time Riders - I probably recommend this for 12 - 13 year old because there is a little bit of gruesome detail with descriptions of human lasagna when time-travel goes wrong.

The following books I haven't read yet, so I can't give you my age recommendations. Some of them I chose myself, but several were suggested by the amazing Librarians at my School Library. Mum took me into the school Library today because the realisation that we were not going to be able to go to the Library for the foreseeable future, whilst we are in our social distancing self-isolation home school, was a little distressing for this bookworm.

Rules for Vanishing

The Man in The Water

Cloudburst

Conspiracy 365 January

The Last Smile in Sunder City

I will continue to add books as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses and we have ever more increasing time to read books.

Also guys, don't stockpile toilet paper. It's a fire hazard.
